SCOUTS

Who: Girls and boys aged 11 to 14.5 years

When: 7:30-9:30pm, Thursdays

Scouts participate in weekly activities designed to help them learn new skills and abilities. The Scout Troop is divided into Patrols, each of which has a Patrol Leader and an Assistant Patrol Leader who are older Scouts. The Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leaders help run games and activities, and have major input into semester planning.

Scouts partake in regular camps and hikes, parts of which may be conducted under the supervision of the Patrol Leader rather than the Scout Leader.  Scouts also have access to a huge range of adventurous activities, such as (but not limited to!) rock climbing, abseiling, boating, caving, and air activities.

The ultimate camp for any Scout is a Jamboree. These are held in Australia every three years and run for about 10 days in a different State each time. Jamborees will typically see approximately 10,000 Scouts and 4,000 Leaders attending for the camp of a lifetime.

The Scout Promise

On my honour, I promise that I will do my best,

To do my duty to my God and to the Queen of Australia,

To help other people,

And to live by the Scout Law

Scouts can choose to omit “the Queen” in the Promise such that the second line would read: to do my duty to my God and to Australia

The Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy

A Scout is loyal

A Scout is helpful

A Scout is friendly
