PREPARE FOR LIFE!
PREPARE FOR ADVENTURE
3rd Ringwood East Scout Group
Who: Girls and boys aged 8 to 10.5 years
When: 6:30-8:00pm, Wednesdays
The Cub Scout section has a strong focus on small group work and fostering leadership and independence. The Cub Pack is divided into small groups, called Sixes, each of which has a Six and a Second who are older Cubs. Sixes and Seconds are responsible for ensuring the wellbeing of younger members of their Six, and will also instruct new members in various aspects of their badge-work.
Cub Scouts provides ample opportunity for children to expand their interests, with an emphasis on badge-work. As Cubs reach defined skill levels and complete certain tasks, they are awarded badges. Many badges focus on basic camp-craft skills (such as fire safety, first aid, orienteering) and others on hobby-like activities (such as swimming, pet care, music).
The Cub Scout Promise
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best,
To do my duty to my God and to the Queen of Australia,
To help other people,
And to live by the Cub Scout Law
Cubs can choose to omit “the Queen” in the Promise such that the second line would read: to do my duty to my God and to Australia
The Cub Scout Law
Cub Scouts are loyal and obedient
Cub Scouts do not give in to themselves
